More than just a café

A welcome addition to Matakana Village, Zen Den is a charming blend of café, retail store, and bookshop that embraces wisdom, wellness, and woo.

Authenticity and values aren't merely catchphrases at Zen Den, but the foundation of their ethos. Environmental sustainability and organic offerings are prioritised, evident in practises like not endorsing single-use takeaway cups. This dedication underlines Zen Den's commitment to preserving the environment and promoting sustainable lifestyle choices.

This sanctuary invites tranquillity, rejuvenation, and connection, and despite being a recent addition to the village, has already drawn attention with its expert baristas crafting artisanal brews. The rich, organic Kokako coffee they serve exemplifies their prowess. For tea lovers, a delightful selection of 16 Zealong organic teas is available. Offering a unique, caffeine-free alternative, the super brews are a creative spin on traditional hot drinks. These nourishing concoctions blend cacao with mushroom infusions, presenting a comforting, and nourishing treat.

The bookshop at Zen Den is a curated trove of wisdom, wellness, and woo. It showcases a diverse range of books, some with missing information that piques curiosity and invites exploration. It's a space where stories come to life, conversations are sparked, and knowledge is shared.

The vision extends beyond the current offering. Plans are underway for constructing a yoga and breathwork studio adjacent to the existing space. This exciting expansion will further foster community wellness and promote a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

More than just a café, bookshop, or retail store, Zen Den is a space for individuals to discover themselves, engage in enriching interactions, and embrace wellness in all its forms. Even though it's just starting its journey, this welcoming, authentic corner in Matakana Village eagerly awaits your visit. Open from 8am to 4pm daily, with on-site parking.
