A Taste of Mexico in Matakana

Every Saturday, locals and visitors alike enjoy the inviting atmosphere, quality ingredients, and fresh, zesty flavours of Mexikana.

Located at the Matakana Village Farmers’ Market and popping up at Fred Caravan this summer, Mexikana is a vibrant local favourite. Known for its fresh, flavourful dishes, take home meal packs and sauces, and Mexican inspired parties, Mexikana focuses on using locally sourced, thoughtfully chosen produce to create its mouth-watering menu.

Building on the legacy of Matt, former owner and head chef at Wharf St in Warkworth, Nat has taken the reins, adding her own flair and passion for Mexican cuisine to create a memorable dining experience. Inspired by her creativity in the kitchen, Nat’s fresh and spicy creations highlight the best of Mexican food, offering a delicious array of dishes that emphasise quality and authenticity.

Committed to providing an elevated and memorable experience Nat ensures there's something on Mexikana’s menu for everyone to enjoy - from meat-lovers, to vegetarians and vegans - and recently expanded Mexikana’s offerings to meet the community’s needs. Convenient, family-friendly meal packs that are perfect for bringing home fresh, homemade meals without the hassle, while Mexikana’s range of sauces will elevate any meal with ease. Additionally, Mexikana has introduced catering and pop-up services, adding a flavourful Mexican twist to local events and gatherings.

Mexikana’s influence extends beyond its delicious food. Nat is dedicated to supporting local suppliers and building connections within the community. Fostering strong relationships is at the heart of what she does - bringing the freshest ingredients to her customers while actively contributing to the local economy.

Whether on a stroll through Matakana on a Saturday, planning an event or tonight's dinner menu, look no further than the local slice of Mexican magic that is Mexikana.
