Taylored for kitchens and beyond

What advice would you give someone designing a new kitchen or beginning a kitchen renovation?

Preparation is key. Do your research on the overall look and style you’re after. A kitchen is the centre of a home so it’s always best to be clear on the end result you’re aiming to achieve from the very beginning.

There are so many elements involved that come together to create kitchens, researching and understanding each of these is helpful. Having your appliances sorted early in the project means cabinetry can be designed around their dimensions, fitting them into your kitchen design seamlessly.

Particularly for renovations, consider the things you like about the way your existing kitchen operates or functions and things that simply don’t work for you. Layout can often take second place to decor but deserves a lot of consideration.

Tell us about the current kitchen design trends that you’re seeing.

We are finding a lot of clients are opting for integrated appliances, favouring the clean lines and minimal look this gives. Fluting and textures with soft curves are popular features to create a point of interest in kitchen designs and porcelain benchtops are becoming more requested now for their sleek finish.

How do you ensure longevity and timelessness in your kitchen designs?

Simplicity is always the best approach to a kitchen design that will stand the test of time. Natural products and shaker- style cabinets are timeless features. If you’re opting for a more modern style, think about injecting it subtly via elements such as backsplashes and handles that are more easily updated in the future.

Does NTCD offer services beyond kitchens?

Yes, we design, manufacture and install all aspects of interior cabinetry. A lot of our projects start with the kitchen and progress to also doing the laundry, bathroom vanities, wardrobes, custom furniture and entertainment units. It creates an incomparable flow in a home with complementary cabinetry throughout.

What is the process when engaging with NTCD?

We offer the complete service - design, manufacture and installation. Before manufacturing begins, clients receive CAD plans including 3D images to sign off on, ensuring the most realistic representation of the finished project. We will also collaborate and work with other designers and architects involved to complete projects to meet clients expectations.
