A Decade of Seamless Design and Build

Created from a belief that building should not be complicated and architectural design can be accessible to all, MyPad is celebrating 10 years in business with the launch of
a new website and adding three new plans to their collection.

Driven by a desire to tilt the complex building process on its head, founder Sarah Ling believed that architectural design and build could be authored under one roof, keeping the experience simple and enjoyable for everyone involved - client, designer and builder.

MyPad has redefined the traditional building process with its seamless approach, setting them apart in the industry. Clients choose a floor plan from the MyPad collection and shape it to suit their needs. Each classic footprint has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with options to add a covered outdoor living area, third or fourth bedrooms, kitchen extension, utility, sleepout, or boatshed. Every MyPad is an expression of its homeowner, with an emphasis on natural light, functional spaces, and seamless integration with the environment.

Driven by solutions, Sarah has shown how this pared-back approach has filled a much-anticipated gap in the Mangawhai market for architectural brilliance at a set price. “It is a privilege to guide clients through their building process,” Sarah says, demonstrating her commitment through 10 years of delivering exceptional homes and baches in the Mangawhai region.

The first MyPad, built in 2014, was created for the Mangawhai Activity Zone Charitable Trust and auctioned to raise funds for the community outdoor park. “It was a very fortunate move for us and we were extremely happy with the finished beachside home,” says Chairperson Colin Gallagher. “The simple functional design made it easy to sell.”

Clients Steve and Lee moved to Mangawhai in 2016 and wanted to use a local builder. After viewing the MAZ charity build they chose MyPad for its simple, stylish design and quality materials. A few years later, they decided to move to a more rural area but felt torn; as Lee puts it, "Once we’d lived in a MyPad we only ever wanted to live in a MyPad”. As if by fate, a MyPad became available in rural Mangawhai, and Steve and Lee jumped at the opportunity.

As MyPad celebrates its tenth anniversary, Sarah and her team remain committed to simplifying the building journey without compromising on style or quality. With their expanded collection, new website, and a decade of success stories,

MyPad continues to shape Mangawhai’s landscape, crafting spaces that resonate with clients’ unique visions.
